Festival Blues Rock Band Lee Lozowick Project Biography
How It All Began for The Lee Lozowick Project
Music Biography
Lee Lozowick: from LGB to SHRI to …
Lee learned the ropes as lyricist and singer with the rock group Liars, Gods and Beggars (LGB) that he created in 1981 and with whom he toured for 12 years. The group had self-produced and distributed ten thousand albums by the time it disbanded in 1999.
Starting in 1989, Lee also toured in Europe, playing at the Hamburg, Berlin, and Magdeburg festivals. The apotheosis came at the immense Olympia Park in Munich where thousands of electrified fans demanded multiple encores!
In 1993, Lee founded SHRI an American Blues group that has been touring Europe every summer since 1996. SHRI’s marathon tours have brought them to many European countries and several festivals like Sziget in Budapest, the Lucerner Blues Session in Switzerland, and the most prestigious Jazz Festival in Nice, where they excelled. Lee Lozowick has been the inspiration to SHRI’s vibrant blues, both off and on the stage.
The Band Lee Lozowick Project
A new group was assembled around Lee in 2006, enabling him to bring his two solo albums to the stage. Most of the musicians had already played with Lee as guests in different venues where they were swept away by this performer who had taken them beyond themselves and their personal limitations.
